Try Living Abroad – Digital Marketing in Malta (m/f/d)
6 months in Malta, real work, zero risk. Housing and salary included. If it’s a fit, you stay.
About this role
You’ve graduated. Or quit your job. Or both. Now what?
Everyone expects you to have a plan. You apply for jobs that sound “fine.” In the same city you’ve always been in. Sometimes you think: What if I just went somewhere else? Abroad, try something new? But then: Housing? Money? What if it doesn’t work out?
That’s why “Try Living Abroad” exists
6 months in Malta. Housing is sorted. You get a salary. You work on real B2B marketing projects with the founder of a European agency. Not as an observer – you’re in the middle of it.
This isn’t an internship with an expiry date. If we work well together and Malta feels right for you – we’ll talk about a permanent position. Some of our team started exactly this way.
Two futures
Option A: You apply to 40 jobs in your home country. You land one. Open-plan office, onboarding binder, “we’re all on first-name basis here.” A year in, you know how the ticketing system works. Whether you actually want this? No idea. But quitting now feels weird too.
Option B: You go to Malta for 6 months. You work on real marketing projects, directly with the founder. After work, you’re sitting by the sea. After 6 months, you know three things: whether living abroad is for you, whether marketing is your thing, and that you can actually do it. Then you decide – from clarity, not confusion.
What you’ll actually do
You work on real projects for B2B clients. No sandbox, no “intern project” tucked in a corner.
- Social Media: Content planning and creation for LinkedIn, Instagram, and TikTok
- Content: Blog posts, email campaigns, and marketing materials that actually go out
- Website: Maintain pages, update content, implement improvements
- Campaigns: Support the creation and management of ads on Meta, Google, and LinkedIn
- Strategy: Research trends, bring your own ideas, track results
You won’t be thrown in the deep end. But you won’t be hand-held either. You get responsibility, mentoring, and honest feedback – and we expect you to do something with it.
What you should bring
This is for you if ...
- You’ve finished your degree – or have a few years of work experience – and want to figure out what’s next
- You’re genuinely interested in digital marketing, not just looking for a resume filler
- You can express yourself – in writing and in conversation, fluent in German. English is a plus
- You’re organized enough to keep multiple tasks moving at the same time
- You have basic familiarity with tools like Canva, Google Workspace, or social media platforms
- You’re up for 6 months in Malta – with the option to stay
Probably not for you if ...
- You’re looking for a remote job from the couch
- You need someone telling you every step to take
- You just want a line on your CV – not real experience
What we offer
Shared accommodation. You don’t have to figure out housing in Malta – we set you up with a room.
Salary. You get a monthly payment. Not a full executive salary, but enough so you can focus on the work – not your bank account.
MacBook. A proper machine to work on. No need to bring your own gear.
Direct mentoring from the founder. You work directly with Christoph. No five layers of management in between, no intern supervisor.
Flexible hours. We measure results, not time in the office.
Path to a permanent role. This isn’t a dead-end programme. If the collaboration works, we turn it into a permanent position.
And what’s the worst that can happen?
You go back after 6 months. With international experience on your CV, real marketing skills, a global network, and the certainty: I tried. Most people can’t say that at 30.
There’s a window
After graduation, after quitting, between two chapters of life – there are moments when a move like this is possible. Before the next lease ties you down, before you get used to a job that’s “fine.” That window closes faster than you think.
